Positive: This was such a unique place wish my stay had been longer! This is a luxury apartment with a cold water dispenser, fridge and very, very good bed situated in the cliff with gorgeous ocean views, although as everywhere in Uluwatu there is some construction going on in the surrounding area but I didn’t hear any noise during my stay. The location is unbeatable if you don’t mind the many stairs, hearing the gentle waves at night was incredible! Although there is no reception the staff replied instantly on WhatsApp and were super helpful. Just below the apartment is a lovely cafe with great breakfast/coffee, ice bath and sauna as well as a lot of warungs where people enjoy the view and surfers take a break. The surf culture is amazing here with all amenities you would need as a surfer. Below the cafes is a beautiful cave where surfers enter the water, at low tide the cave becomes a beach with amazing sunset views. Taking the stairs towards the main road is only a 5-10 min walk with a ton of amazing health food restaurants, bakeries, yoga, massage centers etc., I also found oceanfront Pilates in the area. Negative: Beware the apartment is located in the middle of the cliff and not accessible by road so only bring as much luggage you can carry up and down the stairs (2 min walk). When I arrived the room smelled of very strong synthetic cleaning products that lingered in the room even after keeping the balcony door open for a couple of hours. Would have been amazing with a mosquito net for the balcony door.
